I grew up on TV Guide. In recent years it hasn't been as useful for TV schedules as before, because of the vast array of cable and dish systems out there and other sources of listings. They recognize the problem and the magazine now only has listings for the prime time hours, and then only for what I guess are the most common channels. They know most of us are reading it for the articles and tidbits anyway. When I bought my subscription three years ago, I was told there'd be one double issue (covering two weeks) each year, at the end of the year. That was true the first year of the subscription, but since then the double issues have been increasing. Though the listings for both weeks are crammed into the back, there are far fewer articles and highlights of coming shows. Since the listings are limited and now they're cutting back on the articles with all these double issues, what market are they trying to serve?
